TAFE Queensland recognised again as Queensland’s leading training provider

TAFE Queensland has again taken out top honours at the prestigious Queensland Training Awards after being named the 2022 Large Training Provider of the Year at the annual awards presentation held in Brisbane on Saturday 17 September, 2022.

The award recognises TAFE Queensland’s commitment to supporting students to provide them with the skills they need to graduate as capable professionals with the hands-on skills employers need.

“While the TAFE Queensland of today looks very different to how it did 140 years ago, one thing has not changed – our commitment to ensuring our students gain the skills they need to change their lives and build lifelong careers,” Chief Executive Officer Mary Campbell said.

“The training we provide changes lives, and we are extremely proud of what we offer our students, industry partners, and communities. Our staff are proud to say they work for TAFE Queensland. Right across our organisation, we truly care about seeing our students succeed.

“This recognition is testament to the work we are doing throughout the state to deliver practical, industry-led training to educate 120,000 students every year studying in around 500 qualifications at more than 60 campus locations,” she said.

TAFE Queensland is also celebrating our Townsville-based teacher Ronelle Sheehan who won the Vocational Education and Training Teacher or Trainer of the Year award, and recognising the great achievements of Courtney Evans and Jennah Halley who won the Vocational Student of the Year and Harry Hauenschild Apprentice of the Year awards, respectively.

A partnership with BHP Mitsubishi Alliance, CQUniversity Australia and TAFE Queensland in the Queensland Future Skills Partnership was also acknowledged, taking out the Premier's Industry Collaboration Award.

The Queensland Training Awards are an important celebration for the training sector, highlighting the many organisations that contribute to producing skilled workers right across the state, and rewarding the students and apprentices who are doing exceptional work in their chosen fields of study.
