If you are employed or recently unemployed, you may be able to access free training through the Foundation Skills for Your Future Program. With your career goals in mind, this personalised training will help you to develop reading, writing and numeracy skills, practise using digital software and technology, and gain valuable skills for the workforce.

Invest in your future today. TAFE Queensland is proud to deliver fully subsidised training through the Foundation Skills for Your Future program. Our free, flexible training program supports participants in the workplace by improving English, literacy, numeracy and digital skills. This program is available as:
- Personalised training for employed and recently unemployed Australians
- Employer workplace training for Australian businesses
The Foundation Skills for Your Future program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment.
Eligibility
You may be eligible for Foundation Skills for Your Future if you:
- are an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- are 15 years or above
- have left secondary school education
- are employed OR recently unemployed (within the past nine months) and are not registered with an Australian Government employment service provider
The Foundation Skills for Your Future Program is designed to build skills in:
- Reading
- Writing
- Maths
- English language
- Digital skills
The program is free, and is available to individuals and workplaces as:
- Personalised training for employed and recently unemployed Australians
- Employer workplace training for Australian businesses

Personalised training
In today’s job market, it’s never been more important for Australian workers to stay up-to-date with industry needs and equip themselves with desirable skills. Our personalised training will help you to improve your literacy, numeracy and digital skills so that you are confident and prepared for future employment and training.
Improve your reading, writing and speaking skills. You can gain confidence using digital technology and software. Access accredited and non-accredited training (up to Certificate II).
For businesses
Employer workplace training
Upskill your workforce for free. We will work with your organisation to develop an employee training program that hones language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills.

Eligibility for employer workplace training
Individuals or participants in workplaces may be eligible for the Foundation Skills for Your Future program by meeting eligibility criteria including:
