Course overview

Further your automotive career by gaining your automotive refrigerant handling licence. This qualification will enable you to work with automotive air conditioning systems safely and is a requirement for your refrigerant handling licence.

According to the Australian Government's Job Outlook service, demand for qualified mechanics (including automotive air conditioning mechanics) grew strongly over the past five years with employers finding it hard to fill vacancies. Job openings are expected to remain steady in the near future with around 23,000 job opening expected over the next five years.

In this course you will learn to fit, install, service, repair and test automotive air conditioning systems safely. This course teaches you to comply with laws and regulations regarding ozone protection and synthetic gas.

Upon successful completion, you will be able to apply for your Automotive Refrigerant Handling Licence from the Australian Refrigerant Council. This will allow you to work on air conditioning equipment in light, heavy and commercial vehicles, and in automotive plant and equipment.
