Take this opportunity to be a part of a growing industry. The electronic equipment industry is likely to perform well over the next five years, with job openings expected to be between 10,000 and 25,000.
In this course you will learn how to commission, install, maintain, and fix both wired and wireless security systems in commercial and industrial premises. You will also learn how to use drawings, diagrams, schedules, standards, codes, and specifications in a security equipment setting. Our industry experienced teachers will give you all the support you need to succeed.
Upon successful completion of this course you will be qualified to work as a security equipment tradesperson. You will also be well equipped to pursue further studies in this area.
UEE31420 Certificate III in Security Equipment
The Queensland Government is providing access to fully subsidised training across a range of priority apprenticeship or traineeship qualifications to support Queenslanders. Eligible qualifications have been chosen based on skills demand and advice from industry. If you’re eligible for funding, your course costs will be covered by the state government. Learn more>
The successful achievement of this qualification requires you to complete all core units listed below, plus a combination of elective units with a total value of 420 points. Please note, elective units have various points values. Elective units will be selected in consultation with your employer and included on your training plan.

You may be assessed in a number of ways while you are studying at TAFE Queensland, including observation, written assessment, questioning, portfolios, work samples, third-party feedback, and through recognition of prior learning.
