Public transport
Our Ashmore campus is easily accessible via public transport. The closest bus stop is located out the front of the campus on Heeb Street.

Automotive workshops
Our Ashmore campus features four industry-standard automotive workshops complete with hydraulic test benches, pneumatic test benches, and chassis dynamometers. We have dedicated workshops for both heavy vehicle and auto electrical specialisations and also offer courses in light vehicle mechanical technology and diesel engine technology. All our automotive courses are fully supported and endorsed by local car dealers and manufacturers, ensuring you get the skills employers are looking for.
Electrical and refrigeration workshops
Our electrical, refrigeration and air conditioning students have access to four cold-rooms and four specialised workshops equipped with thermal imaging cameras, programmable logic controller (PLC) equipment, and LabVolt motor training aids. The Ashmore campus also features a capstone dedicated training room for the testing and verification of electrical installations.
Simulated construction worksite
Students studying construction trades will complete their training in our fully-simulated construction worksite. The site contains heavy duty scaffolding, aluminium tower scaffolding, and two elevated work platforms for completing working safely at heights training. You'll learn hands on with access to an extensive range of battery-powered hand tools including a vertical wall saw.
Cabinet making workshops
Cabinet making students at our Ashmore campus have access to state-of-the-art training facilities including a dedicated machine workshop, fabricating workshop, spray booth, and drying room. Our workshops are fitted with industry-standard cabinet making equipment including computer numerical control (CNC) machinery, panel saw, edge bender, jointer, panel planner, table saw, and radio arm.
Plumbing facilities
With nine dedicated plumbing workshops, our Ashmore campus is well-equipped to train the next generation of plumbers and gas fitters. Facilities include a three storey walk up, poly welder, pipe locator, and electric eel/drain snake. We also have a trade waste facility donated by Reece where students can learn best-practice trade waste management processes.
M Block
TAFE Queensland’s Trade Training Centre at Ashmore has a brand new state-of-the-art training facility, specially designed in consultation with industry for building and construction students.
Emphasising on safety it boasts diverse practical learning zones, an amazing large undercover work space and an elevated working at heights training area. The open plan classrooms with glass viewing platforms provide a seamless transition from theory into practical learning.
This enriching and energetic space has cemented the identity of TAFE Queensland’s Ashmore campus as the Gold Coast’s biggest and best Trades Training Centre.
Engineering workshop
If you want to be a fitter and turner, diesel fitter, boilermaker, or other mechanical engineering trades worker, TAFE Queensland's Ashmore campus has all the facilities you need to succeed. We have five dedicated engineering workshops complete with 18 welding bays, computer-aided design (CAD) equipment, 3D printers, MIG multipurpose welders, and a Tomahawk plasma cutter.
Horticulture shed
Situated among natural parklands our Ashmore campus is well placed to offer a range of horticultural courses. The campus features a dedicated horticulture shed as well as specialised horticultural equipment and machinery including pole saws and chainsaws. You will have access to a range of practical work spaces where you can work hands on with plants and tools to create gardens, construct water features, and build retaining walls.
